If there's one thread throughout the collections for fall 2014 it's that clothing is looser. There's a rebel in every room -- Zac Posen went in the other direction with meticulously tailored gowns.
"We are seeing a lot of shapeless clothes here in NY. The body has all but disappeared it's nice to see a designer embracing the female form," says Ken Downing, Fashion Director, Neiman Marcus.
Evening wear dripping in tulle and pleats turns heads. These dresses came swinging into the room, big and bold in black, green and orange.
"He has perfected his technique every seam, every pleat, every stitch was so carefully considered. Real, real dress making," says Amy Fine Collins, Editor of Vanity Fair.
A guy who turns an eye to every detail, Posen leaves no stone unturned ... not even a naked fingernail. Just ask Gina Edwards, Lead Manicurist for Morgan Edwards.
"His inspiration for the look is based on Charles James ... cranberries, blues, oatmeal, tweeds and he wanted something more dramatic so we held up the bottles to some of the pieces and he was like - this is it - this is the color. It's called Hide and Seek by Morgan Taylor and he loved it," she says.
And so did the fashion pundits.
"Especially with the girls having such a bright lip I loved the idea of the girl's nails disappearing into the gowns," says Downing.
"The girls are gorgeous," cooed Robbie Meyers," Editor of Elle magazine.
Glamour Editor Cindy Lieve sums it up:
"Gorgeous, gorgeous gowns with incredible detail."
