Book Review: Twisted Sisters by Jen Lancaster

Twisted Sisters

Twisted Sisters by Jen Lancaster

As a popular psychologist on the cable TV show "I Need A Push," it's Reagan Bishop's job to help people overcome their obstacles and issues. But while Reagan is able to give other people solid advice, she cannot seem to fix her relationship with her on-again off-again boyfriend or understand why her whole family coddles her younger sister Geri.

Geri still lives at home and works as a hairdresser, but she is also the family’s favorite. To say Reagan hates Geri is an understatement; she can’t stand her. Reagan cannot quite grasp why everyone loves Geri, yet no one seems to care about Reagan’s achievements.

When "I Need a Push" is bought by a national network, Reagan's new boss demands quick results and big ratings, which puts the pressure on Reagan, who turns to the show’s New Age guru Deva for help.

With Deva’s assistance, Reagan finds a way to switch identities with the people she’s supposed to be helping, which results in great ratings and gives Reagan the idea that she can finally understand what makes Geri tick. But swapping identities with her sister is more eye-opening than Reagan ever dreamed. It turns out maybe Reagan was the one needing to overcome some issues, not everyone else.

For a fun and quick read that not only entertains, but also showcases Jen Lancaster’s signature humorous style, spend an afternoon with Twisted Sisters.
