More than 150,000 attendees from 150 countries came to check out the biggest consumer technology event of the year the "CES" in Las Vegas this week.
One of the most buzzed about exhibits was home entertainment and appliances where LG is shaking it up with the launch of its new line of ultra appliances called LG Signature, each designed by a special team of experts.
"LG Signature is all about boiling down the essence of the product, the essence of elegant simplicity," says John Taylor, VP, LG Electronics, "It really redefines the ultra premium category in a way that makes consumers' lives better."
One of those innovations making life a little sweeter is the LG Signature OLED G6, the future of TV technology. It delivers their best picture and sound quality and it has a stunningly slim OLED panel that's attached to a glass sheet so it's literally picture on glass, measuring just a tenth of an inch thick.
"LGs been a pioneer in the OLED category for home theater sized screens for a couple of years now to the point where we've created an entirely new category of television," says Director of New Product Development at LG Electronics, Tim Alessi, "We're going to be building on that legacy in 2016 with four new series of products, eight models in total. All of them deliver ultra high definition picture quality, HDR, different screens sizes, flat and curved configurations so there's an OLED for everyone."
In addition to OLED TV, LG unveiled LG Super UHD TVs with superior contrast and a billion rich colors to display 4K HDR content with a greater sense of realism. All their premium TVs have LG's web-OS 3.0 Smart TV platform too with advanced new features and intuitive user interface for accessing your favorite content.
Moving on to appliances....the latest in laundry is LG's TWIN Wash with a new sleek black stainless steel finish. It has the industry first sidekick pedestal and check out this fridge the opaque door in door compartment becomes see through when you knock on it so you can check out what's inside without even opening it.
"So we think it's an easy way to see what's inside and saves you energy and time," says LG Electronics Director of Marketing Home Appliances, Angela Smith for all those refrigerator drive-bys.
And smart phones are getting even smarter. LG's V Series gives today's social savvy a rich multimedia experience for video consumption and creation. The V10 stands out with a second screen real-time manual video mode and dual front camera which makes taking group selfies easier (no selfie stick required!).
One of LG's most popular headsets, LG Tone Infinim is back and this time with a slimmer design and superior Harman Kardon sound. It's upgraded with quad layer speaker technology, dual noise canceling microphone and they wont fall off your neck.
