Grammy-nominated Leslie Grace joined laundry detergent Gain, and non-profit art group Portraits of Hope to takeover Laundromats in New York City -- all to celebrate art, music, culture and make the community just a little bit brighter.
The project they are calling "music to your nose" transformed six Laundromat locations throughout the Bronx, Washington Heights and Spanish Harlem, into colorful, multidimensional art created by community residents and school children.
"We are revealing one of the locations that Gain has revamped," said singing sensation Leslie Grace who was in awe as she walked into the beautified space.
"The laundering experience is not usually the most exciting of experiences," said Mark Jeffreys from Gain, "What Gain has done is partnered with Portraits of Hope... to have kids create beautiful, wonderful, vibrant art."
The community now gets to enjoy the artwork, and the children of schools such as P.S. 35, had the rewarding experience of creating it.
"What I like about art is it expresses my feelings and my favorite colors too," said one students Briana.
And the finished product is incredible.
"Before it was really dull and now it brought some color ..." said student, Amire.
The unveiling of the inspired new Laundromat ended with a performance from the Bronx-born Bachata singer, where she debuted her latest single for the first time.
If you are in the New York City area make sure to stop by one of the six Gain Laundromats and take a selfie. You can upload it to the Instagram tag @gainlaundry and use hashtag #musictoyournose.
