It’s March Madness, a time when America celebrates the standouts and stars, but there is another group of players whose efforts go largely unrecognized — they are the walk-ons. They’re not recruited by their teams and don’t have athletic scholarships. To honor these peeps, Degree is teaming up with walk-on Andre Johnson Jr., a guard for UConn basketball.

Degree is awarding five exceptional college basketball walk-ons with a NIL deal to provide the financial support they need to keep playing. The walk-on will receive a $25,000 NIL deal to cover the average costs and living expenses for one year of college, so they can continue to play the game they love without the stress of paying for school. The student-athlete will also be set up with a professional mentor to guide them as they navigate their college years and post-graduation success. Degree has already selected four walk-ons, including Johnson Jr., and searching for a fifth one.

You can join Degree to create a world where student-athletes don’t have to choose between going to school and playing the sport they love. Go to degreedeodorant.com/us/march-madness to nominate a fifth walk-on. The winning walk-on will be revealed and honored during the Men’s Final Four weekend in Houston.
