New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champ and MVP, joined forces with Citizen Watch Company of America to support their National Merit Scholarship program, rewarding 50 scholarships to "unstoppable" college students. The football star offered up advice and shared what's in the works for the upcoming season.

Plan Ahead

"I think for all student athletes the most important thing is planning," says Eli. You should have a game plan for each day, especially when you're juggling school, homework and extracurriculars. So carve out time, study that playbook and don't forget to eat and sleep right!

Dress the Part

"You want to be comfortable in what you're wearing," says the stylish player, "That means looking sharp but also feeling confident." To do that, make sure you have the appropriate attire. Eli says wearing a Citizen watch is always a great way to make a good impression.

Improve to Succeed

"You want to try to accomplish something that is going to make you better at whatever your job is," says the football star. If you aren't improving, someone else will... "So you've got to make sure you're improving to stay ahead of the game," Eli says.

Find Your Focus

The famous athlete lives by the same planning advice he gives to high school students. "I have times where I have to work on football, on learning this new playbook, and I try to separate that. When at practice, my total focus is on football and trying to do everything to get better," Eli says. But when he's at home, the father of two is all about his daughters. "My focus is on my kids, on my family," he says, until at night when everybody's asleep and he can get in some extra studying and preparation for football. "I try to really plan out my days," says Eli, "How I am going to get everything accomplished by being a good husband, a good parent, but also being a good football player."

What's Next for the NY Giants

"I think we had an outstanding draft," Eli says, "As a quarterback, any time you draft a receiver and an offensive liner in the first two rounds, you usually get pretty excited." The Giants also have a new offensive coordinator, which leaves Eli learning a new offense. "I'm working hard each and every day to try to accomplish that and making improvements," he says, "The whole team has been reenergized this off-season with some new players, new coaches, and we're looking forward to big things."
