Reuse Old Peanut Butter Jars
"Fill them up about two inches with the peanut butter of your choice, sprinkle in some chocolate covered raisins and some celery sticks. It also works great with hummus and vegetables or apples and cinnamon," says Veronica Bosgraaf, founder of Pure Organic.
Freeze Smoothie Cups Overnight
Make a smoothie the night before, (which allows mom and dad to put whatever they want in there without the kids knowing!) For example, "start with some vegan coconut yogurt, add some frozen organic berries, bananas, and then it gets fun. Toss some spinach in there, with some ground up flax seed. We even put bee pollen in there. Freeze them in these little cups the night before and pull them out for the lunch. By the time lunchtime rolls around they are the perfect texture for the kid to enjoy," she says.
Try A Thermos
Thermoses are a great way to get delicious, warm and healthy meals, says Bosgraaf. "I do a vegan mac and cheese with some spinach. You can also do vegetarian chili, roasted butternut squash soup, whatever you think your kids will love."
Rely on Bars and Fruit Snacks
"Kids love bars and fruit snacks, so Pure Organic has a whole line of fruit and nut bars made with dates and nuts that are soft and chewy. We have Ancient Grain bars that are crispy like a rice crispy treat and we have fruit snacks that are actually made with real fruit. Fruit purees, fruit juices." Kids love them all!
