Spruce Up Your Workspace Style
Fun and fashionable home office makeover ideas
From the LifeMInute team
Organizing your workspace might sound overwhelming, but with fun and stylish products, it can feel more like a decorating project and less like a chore. Holly Bohn, Organization Expert, Designer and Founder of See Jane Work, shares tips to turn that dull, boring office into a chic work haven.
Designate a Space
To get started, identify your workspace. "Whether or not you work outside the home, you need a designated work area to achieve those personal goals," says Bohn.
Get Personal
Since you'll be spending a lot of time in your workspace, it should be a space that inspires you and matches your personality. Bohn's See Jane Work collection is designed to mix and match patterns and colors that all go together, "so it's easy to create a work area that reflects your personal style," Bohn says.
Make it Convenient
Be realistic about the space you choose. It has to be convenient, but that doesn't mean you have to take up an entire room. It can be a writing table in the den or a corner of the kitchen. And if you have room for a writing table or a desk, Bohn says "The Realspace Magellan collection at Office Depot has some fantastic options."
Stock Up
Once you select a spot, you need to get those supplies together: "The things you use everyday -- pens, pencils, a stapler, clips," says Bohn, "I also like to have sticky notes, thank-you cards, and some list pads." Adaptable products are also key, such as card boxes which can hold index or recipe cards, and are a great place to stash small desktop clutter.
Add Some Flair
Finally, don't forget those finishing touches! "Artwork, plants and flowers are great accents to make sure your space is an enjoyable one," says Bohn.
