What does today's modern living space look like? Renowned interior design team Mark & Frantz known for creating stunning sets for hits such as Devil Wears Prada and Money Monster to lavish residential interiors for New York's elite, have partnered with LG Electronics to showcase the home design trends of today's modern family.
Lisa Frantz, Residential Commercial Design Expert says a huge design trend today is to show off your television. "You don't hide them anymore, you don't put them in armoires, you don't out them in back bedrooms or dens in the basement," she says "It's all about featuring these beautiful televisions. For example the LG Signature OLED TV, which is picture on glass. It's completely gorgeous, it's razor thin and it's a work of art."
For homebuyers having the right technology and a central hub is key.
"I do a lot of the construction when I work with architects and with developers the first question that we are working on when we are looking at floor plans is where are people going to be putting their TV?," says Ricardo Rodriguez, Real Estate Housing Style and Trend Expert, "and when it comes to actual implantation of that when you walk through spaces people want to know where that TV is going to go. So now we need to have a predetermined you know TV wall. It's a very, very important element."
Mark & Frantz designed a series of present-day living room time capsules depicting how the modern family is designing and utilizing their space with advanced technology like sound bars and smart security systems along with LG OLED TV at the forefront.
"The millennial was probably one of the most fun to design," says Frantz, "What's most important to them is their connectivity. They're very creative. They're into their own self-promotion and branding."
"For the family the traditional family with the multigenerational use of the room, there may be people in a kitchen area, in a dining area and people in the living room and everybody can be on a device and still be together and um sharing moments," says Lydia Marks, Residential Commercial Design Expert.
"In the empty nester vignette, their children are grown, they have a little more disposable income and so what we are able to create here is a very comfortable and yet stylish living room that you could have the chicest cocktail party or you could sit with your grandchildren or children and watch a movie," says Frantz.
No matter your age or life stage it seems technology is at the forefront of any design and a TV remains king in the American home.
"Families want both form and function in their living room and now LG OLED Television delivers on both, especially for families who are cutting the cord it's about the content that's available," says Dave Vanderwaal, VP of Marketing, LG Electronics USA, "You got a web OS system, which allows you to easily switch from device to stream but beyond that the OLED Television has the beautiful design that all families are looking for."
And there you have it the 21st century living space.
