Peachoo + Krejberg Spring 2013 Paris Fashion: Urbane Armor

One of Paris Fashion Week's more edgier offerings, the Peachoo + Krejberg Spring 2013 fashion show is just what the sexy city girl ordered. Black and white was a major theme during New York Spring 2013 Fashion Week, and here designers Roy Krejberg and Peachoo Datwani took the trend across the pond, throwing in a little concrete grey as well. While the color palette is simple and stark, the embellishment and quality of fine fabrics made the collection look textured, rich and highly detailed. Shiny black beading, skeletal corsets, lots of lace and black leather add up to the perfect wardrobe for the chic urbanista. Our favorite pieces: skinny leather pants, a sleek layered A-line dress and a sheer sheath with a silver-crusted crocodile pattern. The format of the Peachoo + Krejberg Spring 2013 fashion show was equally futuristic and militant. The models, who wore slicked back ponytails and intricately beaded masks (reminiscent of a knight's helmet), marched single file into a stark white studio, a perfectly minimalist backdrop for this streamlined collection. As they entered the room, the models made sharp turns to create a geometric formation (similar to some of the sharp lines in the clothes) and once the last model found her spot, they seamlessly began to exit in the same militaristic manner. And while this all sounds quite rigid, the clothes were in fact quite fluid, feminine and empowering. And for that, we'll give our best sartorial salute.
