Beautiful dresses in bright colors and floral prints floated down the J. Mendel Spring 2013 catwalk at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. "My inspiration was based on images of Japanese gardens. There's a lot of beautiful prints that I developed. It's very luxurious, very rich, very precious," designer Gilles Mendel told us.
The legendary furrier, who's now just as famous for creating ready-to-wear that's worn by every celebrity in Hollywood, used satin, chiffon, lace, organza and, of course, fur, to intricately pull together an utterly romantic spring collection. "It's very feminine but also has a modern touch to it. It's not too flowery," said J. Mendel fan and Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss backstage.
