Herve Leger Spring 2013 Fashion Show: Southern, Sexy and Strong
Herve Leger gave a Southern spin to his iconic "bandage" dress and body hugging silhouettes in his Spring 2013 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. "This season, we are inspired by an area in Alabama called the Gee Bend. They make the quilts. It was very inspirational for Herve Leger as well," says designer Lubov Azria, Chief Creative Officer of Herve Leger. Handcrafted embroidery, patchwork and appliqu fused with signature couture techniques, wide leather belts and cutouts created a collection that was a portrayal of feminine strength. The color palette consisted of whites, browns, blacks and blues. "For Herve Leger it's always the same silhouette. It's body conscious for a woman who loves being sexy and being very fashion forward," said Azria. "His clothes are so amazing. Once you squeeze into those dresses, he makes you look good," said actress/model Cheryl Tiegs. Other celebs who sat front row: Daisy Fuentes, Leigh Lezark, Petra Nemcova, Louise Roe, and Jessica White, BryanBoy, Taylor Jacobson (Rachel Zoe's ex-assistant).
