Life's A Beach At Charlotte Ronson's Spring 2013 Fashion Show
Every Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, designer Charlotte Ronson always draws a huge crowd of celebrities, top fashion editors, models and socialites. The Spring 2013 is no exception. "I've watched Charlotte since she was a child. And I've watched her keep evolving. She really speaks to a very mainstream sensitivity without ever, ever compromising herself, and I love that," says Russell Simmons.
Other front row A-listers included Paris Hilton, Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman, Anna Sophia Robb, Monet Mazur, Alexa Ray Joel, Tinsley Mortimer, Jessica White, Angela Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons. "The collection this season is inspired by water's elements," sais designer Charlotte Ronson. "So, it's the tranquility but also the strength of the waves. A lot of the silhouettes are very clean and modern with fluid lines and curves kind of like the waves of the ocean. And the color palette has the ocean blues and greens and sunny yellows which give that perfect seascape. A lot of the bodies are a little bit more sophisticated, sexy but, you know, what we love in women. The little cutouts in the back or just kind of more peek-a-boo subtle," she told us.
Her collection received rave reviews. "Every season it just keep getting better and I don't really understand how, but she just keeps knocking it out of the park. It's great," said the designer's celebrity DJ sister, Samantha Ronson, who, of course, mixed the music for the fashion show. "I love the cut and the style of the clothes. I believe that she makes everyone look really beautiful and chic at the same time," said model Jessica White. "Charlotte's work made it look easy and great. It's high. It's natural. Pops of color. All of your aquas, your water tones. We're cool for the spring," said Kimora Lee Simmons
