Opposites Attract At The Nicole Miller Spring 2013 Fashion Show

"I've created a collection that gives the customer a lot of options," says designer Nicole Miller of her Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection that she revealed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. To do so, she found the perfect blend of sugar and spice. "I've always liked that sort of good girl, bad girl combination, you know, the uptown, downtown. You wear something sweet and something a little harder," said Miller. For example, a pretty sundress was paired with a leather jacket, and skinny black pants were softened by a sheer floral, flowy top. The beauty look for the show was all about the nails. "Our nails are galaxy inspired," said Miller. "Nails have become such an amazing fashion accessory. I find that sometimes women don't want to go as noisy in their wardrobe, but they can certainly do it on their fingers and toes. So it really becomes the jewel of the total look," says Jan Arnold, co-founder of CND Nails. This galaxy glam manicure was concocted with a custom blended mint green nail polish overlapped with sporadically sponged-on CND Sapphire Sparkle Effect, CND Colour in Studio White, and a pink shade from CND's NEW polish line launching in late Spring 2013. Each nail was edged out with CND Colour in Blackjack for a modern twist. Celebrities attending the event included Katie Lee, Tinsley Mortimer and Leigh Lezark. "I love playing with fashion," said Lezark.
