Rebecca Taylor polished up her usual bohemian style to show a more urban, streamlined look for her Spring 2013 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. "I wanted it to feel very modern, but still feminine and polished. There are just pops of color like this beautiful hibiscus coral I call Hawaii 5-0," Taylor told us. Front row sightings: Blue Blood's Sami Gayle with celebrity stylist Robert Verdi and Smash's Katharine McPhee. Herve Leger gave a Southern spin to his iconic "bandage" dress in his Spring 2013 fashion show. "We were inspired by an area in Alabama called the Gee Bend. They make the quilts. It was very inspirational for Herve Leger as well," said designer Lubov Azria, Chief Creative Officer of Herve Leger.

Handcrafted embroidery, patchwork and appliqu fused with signature couture techniques created a collection that was a portrayal of feminine strength. Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2013 fashion show was inspired by beautiful blue water and the colorful sea life that comes with it. "For me the inspiration was water. I was in Turkey and I was on a boat and I was like that's it. I'm going to run with this water idea and then that turned into very fluid silhouettes, almost mermaid like. It's young and fun and that is what fashion is all about. You shouldn't take it too seriously," Lhuillier told us.

"The hair look for the Derek Lam Spring 2013 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was very easy and wearable. "It's a side part and then it gets tucked behind the ears. It's something that somebody can do at home," said hairstylist Orlando Pita who used Phyto products.

Designer Norisol Ferrari was inspired by iconic beauties Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and Rita Moreno for her Spring 2013 fashion show. To drive home her message, Ferrari recruited legendary supermodels Carol Alt, Karen Bjornson and Carmen Dell'Orefice, who at 81 is known as the oldest working supermodel, to walk her catwalk. "Norisol wants to depict women as being beautiful and sexy at every age," supermodel Carol Alt told us.
