Allure's Anti-Aging Issue
The mag reveals three key ingredients that can help turn back time

It's time to turn back the beauty clock! Allure Magazine's highly anticipated Anti-Aging issue hits newsstands this month. The mag's Beauty Editor Sophia Panych reveals the three time-reversing ingredients to incorporate into your routine.
Retinol
"This miracle product does everything," says Sophia. Retinol, dermatologist-recommended and considered the gold standard of anti-aging agents, fades dark spots, reduces wrinkles, unclogs pores and smoothes skin. The mag's favorite retinol product for under $25 is Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair. "It's a serum that contains retinol so it can be used all over the face, as well as around the eye area," Sophia says, "because that area has the thinnest skin and ages the quickest."
Antioxidants
Antioxidants include ingredients like Vitamin C and niacinamide, which protect your skin from the environment. "Things like UV rays, smog and smoke can damage your skin and cause premature aging," says the beauty editor. Allure loves L'Oreal Paris Youth Code Dark Spot Correcting & Illuminating Serum and Garnier Dark Spot Treatment Mask, both with Vitamin C to brighten and illuminate skin, as well as Olay Regenerist Serum, which includes niacinamide plus ingredients found in more expensive creams.
Exfoliants
When it comes to exfoliating, most people think of scrubs, but the gritty particles can cause micro tearing which damages the skin, not to mention the micro beads are non-biodegradable and pollute the environment. "The best way to [exfoliate], is a chemical exfoliate like glycolic acids and peels," says Sophia, "I know that sounds scary, but they're really good, and I promise they won't irritate your skin." Allure's longtime favorite is Avon's Retexturizing Peel. This beauty award-winning product's pads are soaked in glycolic acid that you can rub right on your skin to loosen up and shed dead cells. Another pick, Vichy Normaderm Anti-Aging, offers the same benefit in a cream that you slather on to exfoliate away dead skin cells.
