A sneak peak in beauty from the pros backstage for Spring 2014

Bright Pop of Color
At VPL we spoke with Romy Soleimani who said, "It's all about mixing lip gloss and this yellow eye shadow and we're making this glossy graphic shape, it's just this pop of color there's really nothing else."
Mascara Maven
Tom Pecheux at Badgley Mischka told us, "I wanted to create something, an overall face that's very transparent but at the same time very feminine and colorful, so the skin is a think layer of foundation but lots, lots of mascara."
The key to this look is black mascara and layers it on, top and bottom.
Glowing Goddess
The most important part of the look at Jenny Packham is the skin.
Talia Shobrook explains, "We wanted to make it very sort of ethereal very sort of fresh and glowy and not makeupy. It's very important that it didn't look makeup because if you're trying to convey youthful skin, there shouldn't be a lot of makeup involved."
Brows that Wow
Sarah Lucero at Rebecca Minkoff describes the beauty look as a confident girl.
"She's independent and there's a bit of punk rebellion to the makeup which you're going to see influenced in the liner. Like a deep burgundy, rustic sepia over reddish tones over the eyes. And bold beautiful boosted brows."
Cool Chick
At Rebecca Taylor, Sil Bruinsma is keeping the skin natural with a brushed up brow.
"But the real emphasis is really the eyes so it's this heavily rimmed dark smudgy eye. Lots of mascara, says Bruinsma.
Effortless Chic
"Lots of mascara, I'm using a bronzer to just brush across the eyelids to create the idea of a shadow without it being a shadow. It's just a very real, wearable look," says Val Garland backstage at BCBG.
