B for Bold.
C for Comfortable.
B for Beautiful.
G for Girl's Dream.
BCBG has the winning formula for fashion and they've been presenting it over and over again on the runway for two decades. They always bring enough edge to attract the industry's top editors. They're also the first show --- so it's a party atmosphere and they have just the clothes to wear to the party.
"BCBG always kicks off New York Fashion Week and it's their 25th anniversary this season so we are here to celebrate them and it's so much fun," says Joanna Coles, Editor-in-Chief Cosmopolitan Magazine, sitting side by side with TV personality Mika Brzezinski. "You can feel the energy. Lots of celebs here. It's going to be fun."
Celebrities fill the front row ... clutching the hottest accessory: iPhones! Flashes went off capturing the fall collection's fur coats, muffs and luxurious leathers ... pieces that can transition from the grocery store to the gala.
"I love their clothes. I wear them all the time whether I am cooking or going out with my husband or doing my night time shows. It's the kind of clothes that allow me to be comfortable but yet look sexy and feel good about my self," says celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis wearing a black lace dress from the label.
"At the end of the day, that's all we want ever want to do .. put something on .. look in the mirror and it makes you smile."
Samira Wiley had a wide smile and wore a stunning strapless BCBG. She's a Fashion Week virgin ... the color blocking and accent stripes catching her eye.
"I'm telling everyone. It's my first show ever. I love BCBG. I just wore a dress recently at an Elle event and it was my favorite dress of the season," says Wiley.
Dresses are the label's signature look and there were plenty of patterns this season but big collared coats stole the show. Mint green stripes allowed spring to sneak in. The pops of pastel are a crowd pleaser -- considering they're climbing over mounds of snow in stilettos to get to Lincoln Center.
Designer Lubov Azria intends to keep the party going ...
"Basically the collection was inspired by our 25 year anniversary. So we've been doing shows for 18 years. And what we stand for is timeless elegance and affordable luxury. Shirt dresses, t-shirt dresses ... things that I want to wear everyday," says Azria.
