Christian Siriano Talks Style Tips Straight from His New Lane Bryant Line

Project Runway's Christian Siriano turns his winning talent toward a fresh new collection for Lane Bryant

Designer Christian Siriano has accomplished substantially more than most 30 year olds: He handily won the fourth season of Project Runway and has since launched his own line, attracting A-list celebrity clients including Sarah Jessica Parker, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift along the way.

Lane Bryant Style

Now he is introducing his new collection for Lane Bryant. "The collection was inspired by '50s and '60s ice cream parlors, but I wanted to modernize it. Make it really fun and fresh. Super wearable is always important to me," he says.

His goal in designing the collection? Making everyone who wears it feel fabulous. "In Spring/Summer we want to feel colorful and bright. I want it to be for any woman. Any age, any size, with something for everyone, no matter where they're going."

Mix and Match

All the pieces can be worn in different ways. "Whether it's a great t shirt, a really fun summer party dress, or a cool jacket to wear with a pair of jeans, I've got you covered! Check out these great faux leather jackets. I like this bright, bold fuschia one that you can wear with jeans and a great, white pant you have at home. I also love our black, faux mesh jacket because it's a cool biker jacket but you can throw it on over a Spring dress and edge it up. I also like that it feels light, not too heavy."

The collection includes some soft pieces as well, including a little cotton shirt dress. "I love that it's in a textured twill so you can throw it on--you can even wear it to work. It also comes in black. And I think one of my favorite pieces is a little striped knit t shirt. It's under fifty dollars and fabulous and easy."

Siriano's Muse

Danielle Brooks is one of the designer's favorite actresses. "I love her on Orange Is The New Black, she is in The Color Purple on Broadway now. I dressed her for the Emmy's and the Golden Globes and that was such a red carpet moment. She is just so spirited and lighthearted and I think she is such a great muse because she looks so good in the clothes, and she wanted to wear them.

She was like, 'I want to wear this on the weekend.' And that's the perfect muse. You want them to feel good in your clothes!"
