The essence of Marilyn Monroe was everywhere at Jenny Packham...in the fashion, the hair, the makeup, even the music.

Actress Roxy Olin and fellow designer Whitney Port admired the intricacies of the iconic designs. "Very elegant, beautiful," said Olin, while Port added, "The beading is always so pretty. You know, there's always so much great detail."

Designer Jenny Packham explains the vision behind the collection, "Well, we're very, very inspired by Marilyn Monroe. The colors she wore, the images that she'd done...we've got all the color combinations. The gold lam, the illusion dress, palm prints... We've got an amazing sort of blue, and brown, which came directly from an image of her wearing sort of a brown dress stood against a blue wall."

While, for some designers, picking favorites is akin to choosing between children, Packham doesn't shy away from sharing her fave, "I love the first piece...it's a beaded stretch crepe, it's in a beautiful, sort of sugary, but kind of very 'Marilyn' pink, so I think it says it all."

Accessories further accentuated the collection's sophisticated femininity: lovely gold jewelry, little beaded handbags...

And to complete the look, makeup artist Talia Shobrook and hairstylist Antonio Corral Calero created a "Marilyn, undone" with matte makeup to evoke a cinematic feel, and sexy hair -- disheveled by design -- with lots of volume, side-parted, tucked behind the ear, with a wave of hair cascading on the right.

The nostalgic glamour of it all is enough to inspire a whole new generation of modern Marilyns.
