By: Josie Miller
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week wrapped in New York, and we have the scoop on the hottest runway fashion and beauty trends and how to wear them...runway to realway! It's all about long flowing dresses...high-waisted pants...and powerful prints in fashion come next spring. But how do we make those looks work? Experts say you don't have to invest in a head to toe look...just incorporate some of what you see.Joe Zee from ELLE says, "A piece of accessory will do wonders to a look...incredible shoes, a lot more thicker heel...great flats, and incredible bags on the runway..."And color for spring? Nina Garcia says, "White is the new black."And Constance White describes it as, "A very soft, white and beige and ecrus, those kinds of colors."One of the quickest ways to incorporate this trend is on your nails! We caught up with CND (Creative Nail Design) backstage. They've been dictating the trends at these runway shows for 15 years!Co-Founder Jan Arnold says the trend for spring is 'A drop of peach, a little bit of dirtyness and our key color is called Perfectly Bare. Has a little shimmer and a little texture..."To get the look? Just hit your nearest salon. CND is also the maker of Shellac---the polish-gel mani/pedi that lasts 14 days with hi-gloss shine and no chipping! Talk about getting your money's worth!Other beauty trends? Michael Carl from Allure says, "Matte lip or a very strong red lip and for the eyes its all been very natural."
We caught up with a few fashionistas using Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in between shows. It's a new custom eye enhancing shadow and liner in one...that helps enhance and boost your natural eye color. Use it wet or dry for long lasting color and wear! And for a flawless finish their 3-in-1 mineral correcting powder was popping up as well. It brightens, tones down redness, adds warmth to your skin tone and gives you a runway ready look in one easy step! Both under $15 bucks at the drugstore...Let's not forget spring dos....put it back in a pony tail...or leave it full and flowing, anything goes!Michael Carl, Allure, 'Also color, maybe adding a streak of color to your hair, that can be something fun to do.'One of the easiest ways is with Garnier's New Herbashine. It's the first and only ammonia free at-home hair color formulated with natural bamboo extract, avocado oil and shea butter. Available in 18 shades, it enhances the hair's natural shade in just 10 minutes.
