70s Bohemian Rocker Chic is the look for Fall 2015

Fringe and suede, suited separates, lots of leather and rich chocolate and burgundy shades made for a sultry and sexy collection at Rebecca Minkoff.
"Her designs are really innovative and I also love that they're very chic but also have this simplicity about them," says actress Victoria Justice. Model Lindsay Ellingson is also a fan, "I've walked in hundreds of fashion shows and I'm a big fan of Rebecca Minkoff. I'm wearing Rebecca Minkoff right now, and I love how comfortable this is, and it's so girlie yet cool."
As for Minkoff's muse... "I had just finished reading Just Kids by Patti Smith," the designer explains, "I really wanted to take that raw sexuality that I felt like she embodies. The Bohemian time of her...growing up in New York in the 70s and touching people like, you know, Jimi Hendrix and Grace Slick and Janis Joplin. There's a lot of suede, a lot of leather; fringe is just something I'm very much into. The colors I really wanted to be luxurious, so burgundy and wine you'll see throughout the collection, and then rich browns."
Accessories also evoked the era, whether it be the broad-brimmed hats or crossbody bags with thick patterned straps, as live music played the models down the runway.
For makeup... "We're creating a wide-eyed wanderlust look for this makeup look," says Makeup Artist Sarah Lucero, "A lot of black eyeliner. We're making it much more about lining the under lower lash line versus the top. There's not a lot of color-color, but the makeup and black and kind of nude...it's all strategically placed."
And the look wouldn't be complete without a Patti Smith-inspired 'do. "There's a rock and roll vibe that she wanted in the hair and makeup, kind of a Patti Smith vibe," says Hair Stylist Orlando Pita, "We glue in these extensions. We cut them to make it look like their own hair, creating that perfectly undone texture."
It's an effortlessly cool collection, enough to bring out the inner rocker girl in any woman.
