From a sexy staple to a princess of prints to a super-feminine go-to, Day 5 of NYFW Fall 2016 has all eyes on the runway

Scene: Herve Leger

Never fear; Herve Leger's signature curve-hugging silhouettes still take center stage. This season's kicker? Inspirations Rihanna and Gwen Stefani bring never-before-seen punk-ish details like plaid, fringe, grommets and chains. Think an early '90's club-gear on today's red carpet. There's an alternative vibe that the company hasn't embraced since 1998 when the BCBG Max Azaria Group acquired the brand, and it left those in attendance applauding the fresh and of-the-moment feeling.

"Herve Leger's shows are always sexy and strong but this one was even sexier. It it was not necessarily in the clothing and the dresses, but there was lots of sex appeal. I love the girls with the curly hair, I think that adds extra sexiness and all the textures were amazing."
Petra Nemcova, model

"It was so beautiful. I love plaid pieces and I need to get those boots. The boots are absolutely stunning."
Sami Gayle, actress

Scene: Mara Hoffman

Hoffman graduated from Parsons School of Design and launched her line in 2000, soon after she was stopped in the street by Sex And The City stylist Patricia Field, who complemented her outfit and proceeded to pick up Hoffman's samples to sell in her shop. It's been a steady climb from there, to which fans Katy Perry, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez and Lauren Conrad can attest.

"It's very elegant and classic. I feel I like the entire experience feels kind of vintage but the clothing is very beautiful, modern and fashion-forward. So it's putting classic and modern together I think. I buy her clothes. I get so excited when I find her stuff. I think that she's got an incredibly feminine feel to the way she designs clothes but it's also nice because they are comfortable."
Jennifer Morrison, actress.

Scene: Monique Lhuillier

The designer is known for her dreamy, girlish dresses that has garnered fans like Julianne Hough, Lea Michele and Nina Dobrev. For Fall 2016 she summoned up a slightly more boho look, counting cool-girl staple Talitha Getty as the inspiration behind the line. The result? Luxe, mixed and match separates of bold colors, statement outerwear and darker amber and caramel hues than she usually shows.

"For Fall I always like my girl to be a bit darker, more glamorous and more mysterious. You like to layer up and it immediately gives you a different feeling. The hair has this tousled look like she didn't work on her hair, like she is more natural and rock and roll," says the designer.

"I'm with my stylist and I'm elbowing her, saying 'I want that, I want that!' Just trying to take mental notes of everything."
Hillary Duff, actress

"I'm a big fan of hers and I'm very excited."
Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe

"I'm actually a huge fan of Monique, she's a great friend of mine. I love her collection. It's always ethereal and beautiful."
Cara Santana, actress
