Phillipe and David Blond launched their eponymous collection in 2007, and in those years have made fashion history, dressing icons including Beyonce, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj. Not to mention possibly the most glamorous star of them all--Barbie.
In keeping with their brand's DNA, this collection conjured up no shortage of drama--sequins, platinum and tulle were the order of the day. Also featured: Corsets, bodysuits, laser-cutting and looks inspired by sultry chanteuse Lana Del Rey.
This show debuted the label's evening gowns and menswear as models marched down the runway to heavy metal. Next, look for special occasion and red carpet pieces.
"Oh my god, this collection is going to be incredible," said Phillip Blond. "It's our tenth anniversary so it's going to be amazing!"
His partner, David Blond, agreed. "These are head-to-toe looks. We brought everything through the clothes down to the nail tips so it creates great special, three-dimensional special effects."
Celeb fans including Kelly Osbourne (and her little dog) and Christina Millian populated the front row. "I'm a big fan of The Blonds. I've actually worn some of their pieces in some of my music videos. Their clothing is the best accessory. It makes you feel like you're opening up a treasure chest.
Industry insiders such as photographer Nigel Barker are dazzled by the brand's ability to create buzz. "I'm a huge fan of The Blonds. They do shows like no one else does. People really dress up. I don't know whether to look at the actual collection of look at the audience!
