Summer Wardrobe Staple: Denim
Style Expert Rachel Zalis shows us four different ways to rock the look
From the LifeMinute team
To look fashionable without even trying, Rachel recommends a cute pair of cutoff shorts. She loves the 501s from Levi's -- so iconic, and now they come in cool colors. Rachel paired cutoffs in burnt orange with a white and blue striped tee. "What I love is you can mix and match it with different patterns and colors as well. It's very nautical," she says. Top off the look with a straw fedora, a fringe bag and some caged sandals to really add some personality to the look.
If you are hitting the sand, a super popular look is cutoff shorts in a lighter wash. Throw on a tank and scarf, and you are ready for a day in the sun. "[A scarf] is one of the perfect accessories because it's a multi-tasker; you can throw it around your neck, or you can wear it as a sarong over your bikini," says Rachel.
Whether hiking or just taking a casual stroll, you want a jean that is comfortable and allows for mobility. "Levi's has created a patented technology with a liquid shaping formula called the Revel," says Rachel, "These jeans fit every woman perfectly." The Revel lifts, shapes and defines to give you that perfect contour; plus, it really lifts up the butt. Who doesn't want that? Rachel likes the lighter wash with the Levi's Western shirt for a day outdoors. Make it even more fashion-forward by putting on a pair of little Western booties, which you can also pick up at Levi's.
For a great evening out, Rachel says go for a jean in a darker wash. "It's a little bit more formal," she says. Pair it with a silk cami, grab a metallic clutch, and you are good to go.
