Attention weekend warriors. Looking for a full body workout to build your endurance? The Mountain Climber exercise provides that high-intensity workout that you only need your own body to achieve.
The move mimics that of climbing up a mountain, engaging your core, glutes, hamstrings, quads and lower back. And though this is a difficult, calorie scorching exercise, it is also low impact because you can do it at your own pace and speed, so it’s easy on your joints.
Here’s how: Get into a plank position with your body parallel to the floor. Align your shoulders with your hands and push down into the ground as you start to bring your knee to your chest then back out again, alternating legs. Keep your body straight, avoiding raising your glutes. Speed up the movement to burn up to 10 calories a minute.
