Here's what to keep in your toolbox to beat annoying Spring allergies.

Springtime Ritual

Pollen is the culprit when it comes to your sneezing, red eyes and runny nose, says Dr. Neeta Ogden, Adult and Pediatric Allergy, Ashtma and Immunologist. "I recommend that my patients carry out a ritual every single night: When you come home from being outside, remove your clothes including shoes and socks and leave them at the front door," she says. Next: Shower, wash your hair and most important, cleanse your face, eyes and eyelids.

Pollen-Beating Products

Stick with gentle, non-irritating products if you suffer from allergies. "Skip products that contain fragrance, alcohol, or parabens," says Ogden, who recommends hydrating Garnier Gentle Sulfate-Free Cleanser.

On the go? Pick Garnier's Micellar Water Makeup Wipes, great for those times you're outside and can't find a place to wash your face.

Also, everyone should have a saline mist or wash for your nose and saline solution for your eyes to use nightly, says the doctor. "They are like a gentle shower for your nose and eyes to remove all that invisible pollen residue that lodged there during the day."

Don't forget to invest in a big pair of sunglasses. Not only will you look chic, but they will help (along with a big hat) to control the amount of pollen that lands on your skin, hair and eyes.

And finally, a balm like Vaseline or Aquaphor applied around the outside of your nasal passages is another smart allergy-beating tactic, as is an OTC antihistamine eye drop or 24-hour oral antihistamine.
