Anxiety can manifest itself physically causing rapid heart rate, sweating and trembling. Here are some things you can do to curb your anxious thoughts.
Breathing Exercises

Eat a Healthy Diet and Don't Skip Meals
Don't skip meals. Missing a meal could lead to blood sugar lows causing you to feel jittery, triggering an anxiety episode. Make sure your diet is filled with vegetables, fruits and complex carbohydrates such as whole grains which increase the amount of serotonin in your brain, keeping you calm.
Meditate
Clearing your mind of thoughts can help you feel at ease. Practice meditating for 5-10 minutes a day in a quiet and comfortable area to see your mind shift away from anxiety.
Cut Down on Caffeine and Alcohol
The lasting effects of alcohol can leave you depressed and edgy and caffeine can leave you jittery and interfere with your sleep. Limiting your intake can help you feel better overall.
Get Sleep
Being well rested is crucial to avoiding stress and anxiety. A good night sleep of about 7-8 hours will lead your brain and body to be more equipped to take on the day.
Exercise
Getting your body moving to increase endorphins and serotonin levels to help you feel better emotionally. Physical activity can also take your mind off your problems.
Think Positive
Don’t let a negative thought cycle take you down. When your mind wanders to the worst case scenario, thought check yourself to see if your anxious thoughts are warranted and then rethink the situation in a more positive light.
