As a busy working mom, actress Ali Larter found herself worried about keeping her home and children not just clean, but disinfected especially after learning a startling fact about her baby's "social network"...
"One of the things I was surprised about is that my daughter has more followers on her social networks than I have," jokes Larter. "I'm not talking about Instagram or Twitter. I'm talking about germs and bacteria!"
All kidding aside, germs and bacteria are the leading cause of colds and flu, and with kids touching on average 300 surfaces in thirty minutes, keeping things (really) clean can feel like an uphill battle.
Germ Central
"In my house we are always cooking. We are always making meatballs and meatloaf at dinner--even scrambled eggs. It's messy. So my kitchen counter is never clean, let alone disinfected. So I use Lysol Disenfecting Wipes to wipe down my kitchen tops because I know it's going to kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria," says the actress.
Other steps you can take to keep your home cleaner include taking your shoes off at the door to avoid trekking in the dirt you've collected walking around all day, disinfecting old toys, using Lysol Disinfecting Spray on your doorknobs and railings and asking anyone who is under the weather to wash their hands very well. "I always use Lysol because it helps keep the home healthy, especially with young children running around," says Larter.
Working Mom
"For me it's about finding that time to connect with my kids, slowing it down. So I get down on the floor and play with my kids, I cook with them. Everyone is busier than ever and I just want to slow it down, especially as a working mom."
Larter's career is as busy as ever. She is working on the third Resident Evil movie, reprising her role as Claire Redfield. "We shot in Cape Town, which was so beautiful and such an adventure for my family."
Also, she just finished a pilot for Fox called The Pitch, about the first female Major League Baseball player. "This year I was planning on taking a little time off work, but then this opportunity came about and I was really inspired by the story because I honestly believe that people should be able to do whatever they want in this world, and that's what this show embodies," she says.
