Attention cat lovers! There's a new mobile game in town and it involves four-legged, fury friends. That's right! King, the creator of the oh-so-popular Candy Crush has announced their new game, Shuffle Cats.
"It's a great new game that you can play on your phone or your iPad," said New Girl star Hannah Simone. "It's the classic card game of Rummy. It has this wonderful global, social, interactive element so you play against someone else anywhere in the world. You can chat with them as you go and it's set in this wonderful world of cats with these phenomenal personalities."
King, in partnership with The Dodo--an online community for animal lovers--invited furry friends everywhere to participate in the "America's Next Shuffle Cat" competition. "We've had hundred of entries from around America. Cat lovers and players have been sending their photos into our social media team and from those hundreds we whittled it down to the last four that are going to strut their stuff on the catwalk," said Ben Hollis, Lead Game Designer for King.
The prize? Winning the coveted honor of having their cat featured in the game for a weekend.
"What makes a cat really stand out to any viewer I think is personality," said Joanna Zelman, Executive Editor for The Dodo. "You want to watch a cat that where either you want to be their best friend, you want to hug them or you want to cry or laugh with them," she says.
"The decision of who will be America's next Shuffle Cat, Mr. Wile Coyote, is Super Genius," announced Simone, "because we feel like we can teach the young cats of Shuffle Cat a thing or two."
"The prize for today's winner will be being in the game along side Water our tinkerer, so Walter owns Walter's Workshop, which is a weekly live event where each week he comes up with a brand new experiment to add a bit of diversity to the gameplay," explains Hollis.
"Look at him! He's adorable and so the rest of the world needed to see how adorable he was as well," said finalist, Michelle Meinhold, "He'll be featured in the game on one of the segments next year."
