The latest in smartphones, tablets and gaming to gift the techies in your life

From the LifeMInute team

Whether you're shopping for a mobile multi-tasker, hardcore gamer or TV and tablet enthusiast, Tech expert Stephanie Humphrey has the latest for all the techies on your list.

Smartphone

Humphrey says start simple. "Everyone is always looking for an upgrade to their smartphone. LG has you covered with their brand new G2."

It's the first smartphone in the US to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor. Um, english please! Basically, a faster phone, higher quality graphics and crystal clear photos, all on a 5.2 inch high def screen. It also comes equipped with a 13 megapixel camera that can be operated by the Rear Key button keeping you covered on selfies all holiday season.

It also has Slide Aside which allows you to navigate between apps with just one swipe, and Answer Me technology lets you answer the phone just by picking it up and placing it to your ear. All without touching a button, perfect for that mobile multi-tasker.

Tablet

"Tablets are going to be huge this year and LG has you covered there as well," she says. The G Pad 8.3 is fully integratable with the G2 smartphone, so you can run all the same apps you know and love right on the 8.3 inch screen. And it weighs less than a pound! A great portable gift for that hard to please person on your list.

Gaming Devices

Humphrey says there are two to look out for. "Microsoft and Sony both released new consoles in November, the Xbox One and the Playstation 4," she says, " with completely redesigned controllers and upgraded graphics sure to please that hardcore gamer in your life."

Streaming Internet Television

On a budget? The Roku 3 will satisfy techies for under 100 bucks. "It's a device you connect to your TV that picks up your Wifi signal so you can access all the great internet content you view on your laptop or tablet, now on that big beautiful 50 inch television."

That includes Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, online sports programs, all in full HD color, right on your TV! Time to cancel that cable subscription.
