How to perfect your holiday dinner party? We caught up with One Kings Lane's VP of Merchandising, Day Kornbluth for some simple tips.

Plenty of Prep-time

"The more time you give yourself to prep the more fun it is to think about the table," says Kornbluth.

Everyday the site features new items, she told us. So keep your eye out for "something that may inspire the feeling of the table or an idea around colors."

Nontraditional Colors

"You shouldn't get too caught up with red and green for the holidays." Day says mix it up with metallics, a little gold and silver and jewel tones for an eye-catching display.

Mixing Old and New

Don't worry if you don't have enough dishes for all your guests. It's okay to mix your old china with new pieces; "you just need to think of some way to tie it all together."

A touch of black (soup terrenes) did the trick here.

Minimize Clean-up

The aftermath of a holiday feast can be daunting. Day says don't stress and go disposable! This season One Kings Lane partnered with notable food and entertaining peeps to design a series of disposable paper placemats and runners. Great for even a kids table. You can grab a whole pack of 50 for only $25.
