Dana Vollmer has a lot to look forward to. After two years of firsts, including the birth of her first baby, the Olympic medalist is looking forward to training for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Here she shares her tips for success.
(New) Mom With A Dream
"Now that I'm a mom it's a perfect time to partner with Pampers to show my son that all things are possible when you dream big. I was so excited to get back into the water after becoming a mom. For myself but also for my son so he can grow up to recognize the importance of hard work, to inspire him at a young age. I want him to grow up seeing his mom achieve her dreams as a competitive swimmer to hopefully ignite his own passions for success."
Sleep For Success
"As with any new mom, my life has changed dramatically. But I call on my inner strength to make sure I can be the best mom while also striving to achieve my own Olympic dreams. Sleep is so incredibly important in the balance of everything. I need the energy to train and just keep up with my son. We use Pampers in our house which provides overnight protection that helps our son have a sound night of sleep. And a good night's sleep for baby means we both wake up well rested and ready to conquer our dreams."
No Fear of Failure
"I would of course love to share my passion for swimming with him. He's been exposed to it since he was born. He comes to every training session with me, so it's certainly already a natural part of his life. I try to tap back into that little girl who just liked to play in the pool all the time and watch my shadow. It's definitely something that inspires me in every workout is just that feeling of getting to play in the water and experiment with movement and that's what keeps the fun in it for me and that's what I want to bring into my son's life, that there is no fear of failure, that the sky's the limit and to dream as big as he wants because we'll always be there to catch him and to support him and he can just shoot for anything that he wants to do."
