Rodale, the publisher of well-known magazines such as Men's and Women's Health, Prevention and Organic Life has announced the first ever Rodale 100 honoring the people, companies and products that are changing our world in a positive way.

Nominations were submitted by their expert community of award-winning journalists, activists, and experts. While some of the names on the list probably sound familiar -others may surprise you. Such as, Shoes That Grow is an expandable shoe that grows up to 5 sizes and provides thousands of children living in extreme poverty with shoes to protect their feet from parasites and diseases. It's available in 20 countries.

And then there is Greenwich, Connecticut teen Olivia Hallisey who invented the Ebola essay card, which can detect Ebola in thirty minutes for $25. Amazing!

A more recognizable name...Subaru is the first manufacturer in the US automotive history to achieve zero-landfill status and announced a partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association.

And movie star Geena Davis' Institute on Gender in Media holds three Global Symposiums in the United States exploring the global portrayals of women and girls in film and the media's impact concerning them.
