How to add a little lux to your laundry room? Design Expert, Camille Styles shares tips to take your laundry room space from utility to utopia.

When it comes to decorating a home, the laundry room is often forgotten. However, this is a useful area and should reflect personality and design. "Why not make it a really beautiful spa-like space that's also a really functional center of you home," says Styles.

For starters, your work horse doesn't have to look like one...these days you can find sleek and stylish appliances that marry form and function. Camille has Electrolux's new Front Load washer and dryer. "It's beautiful, it's sleek and it's really functional," she says. "My favorite thing about it is, I can wash and dry an entire load in just 29 minutes."

The washer has extra care technology that gives you a superior wash. "I love the perfect steam setting on the dryer, which actually eliminates wrinkles and stains from my clothes," she says "also they both are really quiet, which is nice since my bedroom is near the laundry room."

Next up, Styles says create a place for everything, "It's really smart to designate different areas of the room for the different tasks you'll be doing there."

Have counter space devoted to folding clothes and a pullout ironing board that you can push back in and out of sight when through. Then, start utilizing your space and get organized. "I love installing tall cabinets in a laundry room it really maximizes the space in a small area and it's the perfect place for stowing away things like serving pieces and craft supplies."

Try out some beautiful big baskets to give you a spa-like feel and transport your clothes from room to room. You can even install a refrigerator in the laundry room. Styles says she keeps hers "stocked full of beverages so I'm always ready for a party and it's also a great necessity around the holidays when you have those larger food items like a thanksgiving turkey."

And there you have it utility to utopia.
