This week’s new releases remake some classics, from a live-action version of a Disney dog love story to Charlie’s latest trio of angels. Also, in theaters the tale of a 1950s hit man, Kris Kringle’s daughter and the real-life 1966 race between Ford Motor Co. and Enzo Ferrari at Le Mans.
The 1955 cartoon version of Lady and the Tramp comes to life in the live-action movie starring Justin Theroux as The Tramp and Tessa Thompson as Lady. Don’t worry, Disney traditionalists, the movie is still filled with all original feels. Theroux voice of the male lead says, “there’s a lot of beautiful moments in this film.”
Speaking of remakes, Charlie’s Angels comes out with its 2019 edition starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska and Elizabeth Banks who also wrote, produced and directed the film.
Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman stars Robert De Niro as 1950s truck driver Frank Sheeran who gets involved with Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci) and his Pennsylvania crime family to rise in the ranks as a hit man. The movie is in theaters now but will also be available on Netflix November 27th.

For car fanatics (or anyone who just loves a good underdog story), Ford v Ferrari is the film to see. The film depicts the relationship between American automotive designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and British race car driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) who assisted Ford Motor Co. in designing a vehicle to compete against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.
