The year is 2019 and a mysterious plague has transformed the majority of the population into vampires. Humans are now an endangered species and the blood supply for vampires is scarce. But Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke), a vampire researcher is determined to find a blood substitute in order to save the human race from extinction even if it means going against his own kind.
