Texas-born singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo has been pumping out memorable music for the last 40 years or so, dating back to his San Francisco Punk-Rock band, "The Nuns."
It's hard to describe his eclectic sound now, a mix of Americana, Punk, Glam, Folk, Rock and overall goodness. We caught up with him and his band, (orchestra in fact) at City Winery in New York City where he was playing his annual residency and 2001 album "A Man Under The Influence" in its entirety.
His current tour "Think About the Link" in conjunction with the "Prevent Cancer Foundation" is set to raise awareness about the link between Hepatitis B, C, HPV and liver cancer. Alejandro Escovedo himself is a Hepatitis C survivor.
