"My music is all about having fun, party, getting crazy, dancing. It's about life," says L.A. artist Redfoo about his solo debut album Party Rock Mansion.
Tennis Ace
"I was always playing sports growing up and I said, 'I'm going to get into tennis.' Then a freak accident happened and I lost my racquets. They were in my backpack and I was driving on my bike and I lost them. I thought, 'is this an omen?' So I stopped tennis and got into music."
In His Blood
"My dad is Berry Gordy of Motown. He would play the piano a little bit in the house, Smokey would come over and sing and stuff. I was always a tennis player. But you know my dad heard some of my stuff. They always wanted me to go to college and do business or something. He was like, you just don't have the voice. Even though Berry Gordy said that, he was like, 'Tupac, he's got a voice.' But I got a cool voice too, I thought. And I started producing people and I was telling them how to rap it. I was like, 'just do it like this,'and I was like, 'damn, I'm better than he is!I just had to go for it. That's what I really want to do. So I just started doing it. And here I am."
Independence Days
"Everything is DIY, you know? We make all these clothes since we have no major label. We have a great team, do everything in house. I'm very excited about it. We're on Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and the app Redfoo. It's pretty good."
