The hitmakers of "Take Me Home" have another homerun on their hands. The electronic dance single "Surrender" energizes and prompts you to set your personal fears free. "When most people hear the word surrender, they think of something bad and negative. But that's not so with this song," says Jean Paul Makhlouf, who forms Cash Cash along with his brother Alex Makhlouf and Samual Frisch. "We chose a completely different side of it. Sometimes you fight things in life, and then all of a sudden, you just let it go and surrender--that sets you free," explains Maklhouf. Surrender what exactly, you ask? Well....the song's music video features a model-worthy group 20-somethings suggestively playing spin-the-bottle in their underwear. "It's a bit sexual, but it's really just filled with metaphors for the concept of surrendering and opening yourself up to new experiences," he adds.
At an exclusive press preview held at Atlantic Records in New York City, the electronic dance trio, who produces, records, mixes and masters all their music together, revealed a pared down acoustic version of "Surrender." "What we're doing today is really cool. We actually stripped down our songs. So it won't be an electrical dance song. You're now hearing it with just guitar, strings, piano, real instruments--bare bones, pure, raw, song," says Makhlouf. "We start writing all of our songs with just the guitar or the piano and then we'll get in the room with the singer and start writing the songs out. So this is definitely bringing it back to the way it originally started in the studio," adds Frisch.
Cash Cash is about to embark on the international leg of their 2015 tour. "We're off to Australia and we'll definitely bring the party--that's our whole attitude towards the tour. It's about getting everyone energetic and vibing. A lot of unreleased songs are going to be playing, even some collaborations that aren't out yet. If you vibrate I think that's when you get the magic happening," says Frisch.
What's up next for Cash Cash? "We just wrapped up a song with Busta Rhymes and B.o.B. That came out really well. It's one of my favorite ones," reveals Frisch. No doubt, it'll soon be one of our favorites too.
