As one of the most influential rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones marks 60 years in the biz. The biggest stars in country music are paying homage with a star-studded newly released documentary about the making of Stoned Cold Country, the 60th-anniversary tribute album cementing the band's impact on the country music scene.
It was all created by country music powerhouse producer and director Robert Deaton, known as an influencer of popular culture and the music world, working with superstars across all genres, including Garth Brooks, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Chris Stapleton. Since 2007, Deaton has served as executive producer of country music’s biggest night of the year, the CMA Awards.
The album, which Deaton calls "a love letter to The Rolling Stones from Nashville,” includes performances by country greats Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, Zac Brown Band, Brooks & Dunn, Little Big Town, and more.
We caught up with Deaton, who assembled the talent and produced the album and the documentary to hear all about.
