Musician and singer, Willy Moon may not be a household name...yet, but you may have already heard him without realizing it. (His first Single "yeah yeah' was featured on an iPod commercial).

The 24-year-old, statuesque New Zealand native describes his music as a "smashing together of rock 'n' roll and hip-hop."

And says he's never had a problem feeling musically inspired, creating music that feels like its coming from one person's soul and from one person's point of view about things.

"I have a lot of ideas it's just about trying to find ways to get music out of my mind and on to a recording," says Moon.

To assist him with the creation of his breakout music video, he turned to director Alex Cortes known for directing The White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army'. "[Cortes] got in touch and he sent us like this 60's Italian TV show, which was that set up with those mirrors, so that's really what we worked on, what we tried to replicate," says Moon.

And although he commanded the video featuring a fleet of dancers, with hip thrusting moves reminiscent of Elvis, he expressed that the process was not as effortless as he made it look. "We shot the video and I spent a lot of time standing on a mirrored box thinking that I was going to be stuck there forever and thinking I was going to lose my mind which I probably did."

Perhaps the reason why Mr. Moon delivers like a seasoned pro is because he got his start in music early. "When I was little...I fell in love with this fantastically, incredible instrument called the guitar. Throughout my childhood, music was something that was an anchor for me, something that I could hold on to, something that made life feel special," he says.

And as for the discovery of his vocal talent, it was something Willy just stumbled upon..."The only reason I started singing was because I didn't know anyone who could sing with me," said Willy, "all I wanted to do was play the guitar."

A few years down the line Willy was discovered for just that, when he was contacted by Jack White's, Third Man Records. "[They] just got in touch with me and said they were interested in putting out a single," said Moon, "Third Man's based in Nashville so I went down there and spent a week."

Willy then got to tour with The White Stripes' frontman, whose music he loved growing up. "It was incredible to spend you know just every night just watching him from the side of the stage--watching him perform."

So what can Willy fans expect from one of his own performances? "People who come along to our shows are probably going to see me behaving like a lunatic," he says.

And he'll be letting the lunatic out for upcoming gigs in the United Kingdom and eventually for a new album!
