We met up with the legendary Los Angeles punk band X at NYC's Irving Plaza for their annual holiday tour. The energetic, classic punksters have been rocking crowds since 1977 -- most recently on their X-35: 35th Anniversary Tour -- and now the band is closing out the year with an East Coast run that's about more than making music...it's about helping those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. In conjunction with Live Nation's "New York Cares Coat Drive," original band members Exene Cervenka and John Doe tell us that they're asking fans attending their November 30 and December 1 shows at Irving Plaza to bring a coat to donate to those in need. Additionally, a portion from every ticket sold to their December 7 show at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ, will go to the Monmouth County Food Bank on the hurricane-ravaged Jersey Shore. You can catch X, sharing the bill with Reverend Horton Heat and Not In The Face for the first half of their holiday run, at venues up and down the East Coast from November 30 thru December 7. The second half of the tour, which pairs the iconic sounds of X with The Father Figures and Scorpion vs. Tarantula, kicks off December 15 in Phoenix and wraps up with two shows in San Francisco on December 28 and 29.
