Hallelujah! With the pandemic hopefully fading into the rear-view mirror, the live music industry is poised to return to its pre-Covid levels. With the temps heating up and summer right around the corner, what better way to celebrate with not just one single concert, but an entire festival of music, art, and other festivities. Here are some on our LifeMinute Music docket to check out.

The summer concert series, Beneath The Desert Sky, starts June 18 at Indian Cove Amphitheater in Joshua Tree National Park, CA. Mojave Lords, earthlings?, and Lifeminute favorite Alain Johannes will kick things off. Yawning Man, Sean Wheeler, and a film by Kate McCabe will follow later in the summer on July 17.

Perry Farrell's Lollapalooza will return as an in-person event at Chicago's Grant Park from July 29 through August 1. The headliners this year include newly elected Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters. The Lollapalooza Festival always lures an eclectic group of artists, and this year's edition is no different. Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, Tyler, and The Creator are just a few of the acts you will be able to catch over the course of the four-day event.

Also in Chicago, in Douglass Park, Riot Fest will bring a killer lineup from September 17 through September 19. Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Faith No More, Dinosaur Jr., and many more will transport you back to the heyday of 90s and early 2000s alt-rock.

Louisville, KY is the birthplace of such famous iconoclasts as Dr. Hunter S. Thompson and Muhammad Ali. But from September 23 through September 26, Louder Than Life comes to town with its own group of rule-breakers. This hard rock fest will turn up the volume to 11 with the likes of Korn, Metallica, Jane's Addiction, Judas Priest, and Anthrax as well as hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, and much, much more. Check it out at the Highland Festival Grounds at the KY Expo Center.

Farther north to Camden, NJ, on September 25, Philadelphia's famous radio station 93.3 WMMR presents MMRBQ, a one-day event at the BB&T Pavilion. Headliners include Jane's Addiction, punk rockers The Offspring, and classic rockers Cheap Trick along with a gathering of other great bands.

Later in the year, the Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Park in Austin, TX, will run on two consecutive weekends on Oct 1-3 and October 8-10. The festival will be celebrating its 20th anniversary after being canceled last year. This year’s edition will include George Strait, Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, and Erykah Badu. You can always count on the organizers to deliver a wide variety of genres to fill their eight stages in the expansive Zilker Park location.
