John Lodge has been voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet.” Now, the songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues is releasing the ultimate live album entitled The Royal Affair and After.
He wanted to keep the legacy of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted band alive with the new record featuring live recordings of all The Moody Blues mega hits, plus special tributes to bandmates Graeme Edge, Justin Hayward, Mike Pinder, and Ray Thomas.
The tracklist, including “Ride My See-Saw,” “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band),” and “Isn’t Life Strange,” is what Lodge calls “the soundtrack of my life.”
We sat down with the English rocker virtually from Barbados to talk about the album and his long career. His accolades include performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling more than 70 million albums, as well as releasing his three solo albums, entitled Natural Avenue, 10,000 Light Years Ago, and B Yond.
The latest album was recorded live in Las Vegas on The Royal Affair Tour, with additional tracks recorded during his subsequent USA dates. He heads back out on tour this March. Check out dates at moodybluestoday.com/tour.
