Renaissance Man Rick Springfield has done it all in the entertainment industry, with more than 25 albums to his credit, two best-selling books, and an acting career which took off in the early 80's with his wildly popular portrayal of Dr. Noah Drake on the soap opera General Hospital. His latest stints include major motion picture gigs such as Jonathan Demme's "Ricki and the Flash" alongside Meryl Streep in 2015, and guest appearances on TV shows such as "True Detective," "American Horror Story" and "The Goldbergs" season 6 which premieres tonight, by the way, this multi-talented artist is a force to be reckoned with.
With a fervent fan base that regularly sells out his concert appearances, after nearly 50 years in the biz, he's as hot (and handsome) as ever and it appears there is nothing he can't do.
We caught up with him at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ while supporting his most recent musical effort "The Snake King" which dropped earlier this year. A bit of a departure from his pop hits it's mostly a Blues based offering, with some pretty dark lyrics, wowing new fans and old ones alike.
Vocal about his life-long struggle with depression, which gives way to much of his lyrical drive and motivation, he says it's "what has kept in him the game, I don't feel worthy or like I'm enough...like I have to keep doing more."
Ask any one from his army of loyal old fans and legion of new ones, and they'll tell you it's ENOUGH, but they're more than excited about what's coming next from Rick Springfield.
