Jill Stuart Spring 2013 Evokes Old Hollywood Glamour
Models walked down the catwalk in sexy sheer lace and billowing silks. "I was inspired by faded Hollywood glamour and couture lingerie. I was watching Kim Basinger in L.A. Confidential and I was very inspired by that," said designer Jill Stuart. To create the collection, Stuart used lots of satins and embroidered tulles and laces. "I just love to capture a beautiful woman. I think that's always very relevant," Stuart told us.
The makeup played a key role in enhancing the feminine, romantic vibe. "I used a lot of soft makeup colors, powdery colors," says Stuart. "It's a really luminous fresh look. We're doing a soft smoky eye using a red-y brown pencil," said lead makeup artist Diane Kendal, who used Jill Stuart cosmetics.
Celebrity fans who attended the show, loved it. "My favorite was the nude dress with the very skinny straps with the high waist with the pleats. The back was so sexy, gorgeous," says actress Rose Byrne. Other front row celebs: Kelly Bensimon and Sophia Stuart.
