MTV Movie and TV Awards put on hold until 2025
The award show took place consistently from 1992 until 2019 before being halted in 2020 by the Covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony then returned the following two years but was once again put on hold in 2023 due to the Writers Guild of America strike, which started just five days prior. An MTV spokesperson reports that the award show will return in 2025 in a new and reimagined format.
Filmmaker Roger Corman dies at 98
Often referred to as “The King of Bs,” Corman worked on hundreds of films over a seven-decade timespan including The Little Shop of Horrors, Black Scorpion, and Bloody Mama. He helped jumpstart careers and served as a mentor to many of today’s most notable directors including James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro. Corman passed on May 9 in his California home as revealed by his family on social media.
Lea Michele reveals she is expecting her first daughter
The actress/singer celebrated Mother’s Day on social media by revealing the sex of her baby. Michele posted a photo of her bump on Instagram writing “The most beautiful Mother’s Day today, holding my son who made me a mama…and carrying my daughter.”
