National I Love Lucy Day is celebrated, 73 years after the show’s premiere
On this day in 1951, the groundbreaking comedy I Love Lucy made its television debut, becoming the first ever sitcom shot in front of a live studio audience. The show, which starred Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley, ran for six seasons, won 5 Emmy awards, and earned a spot in the Television Academy Hall of Fame, cementing its legacy as one of the greatest television programs of all time. Celebrate this special occasion by going back and watching your favorite episodes, and keep its legacy alive by sharing your favorite moments with younger generations.
Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returns tonight after a 4-year hiatus
After taking a 4-year-long pause on the iconic runway show due to controversy and poor ratings, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is making its triumphant return to New York City in a bold and beautiful way. The event will feature legendary models such as Gigi Hadid, Barbara Palvin, Imaan Hammam, Candice Swanepoel, Taylor Hill, Behati Prinsloo, Ashley Graham, Adriana Lima, and more. Model and TV personality Tyra Banks is also expected to walk the runway for the first time since her retirement nearly two decades ago. 50 Cent announces first-ever Vegas residency
The 49-year-old rapper announced the big news on Instagram earlier this morning, writing “My first Vegas residency is going to be an experience, you don’t wanna miss this!” The series of 6 shows will take place from December 27 to January 4 at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Tickets are set to go on sale to the public Saturday, with presale beginning tomorrow at 10 am.
Rapper T.I. announces retirement from performing
The “Live Your Life” and “Whatever You Like” rapper announced his retirement from the stage during an interview with Atlanta radio station 96.1 The Beat, saying “I don't want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.” His final live performance will take place on December 19 as he headlines the radio station’s 2024 Jingle Ball event alongside Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, The Kid Laroi, Khalid, and Tinashe. The announcement comes less than a month after he and wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris were awarded $71 million in a lawsuit against toy company MGA Entertainment, after the brand violated intellectual property rights of the couple's pop music group OMG Girlz.
