Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox pay tribute to Friends co-star Matthew Perry one year after his death
Both actresses took to social media to share tributes to Perry, who died on October 28, 2023, due to the acute effects of ketamine. Aniston posted a carousel of photos alongside the actor as well as with their other Friends co-stars, captioning the post “1 year” and tagging the Matthew Perry Foundation, which works to help others who struggle with addiction. Cox posted a similar tribute, also sharing photos of the two of them, writing “Missing you today and always.” While investigations into Perry’s death remain ongoing, 5 people have been charged, 3 of which have taken guilty pleas.
Gisele Bündchen pregnant with third child, first with boyfriend Joaquim Valente
The 44-year-old model, who shares two children with ex-husband Tom Brady, was confirmed to be expecting her third child by an unnamed source to PEOPLE on Monday. Bündchen began dating Valente, who doubles as her Jiu-Jitsu trainer, in June 2023, less than a year after her official divorce from Brady. While the parties involved have yet to speak publicly on the exciting announcement, it was reported that the former NFL QB was made aware of the pregnancy before the news broke to the media.
Liam Payne’s first posthumous single “Do No Wrong” to be released Friday by collaborator Sam Pounds
The release was announced by music producer Sam Pounds in a statement on social media Monday, writing “I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed. I pray angels will comfort you all everyday while listening.” Fan response to the announcement has been largely mixed, many grateful that Payne’s art will continue to live on even after his untimely passing, with others concerned about possible exploitative intentions behind the drop, as the announcement comes less than two weeks after the singer’s death.
National Cat Day is celebrated in the U.S.
Recognized annually on October 29, National Cat Day celebrates all breeds of these furry friends and encourages adoption and rescue for those who are looking for a new cuddly companion. Founded in 2005 by author Colleen Paige, this holiday advocates for cats in need of a loving home, as well as for the proper care and welfare of felines across the country. Celebrate by volunteering at a local animal shelter or take a moment of your day to care a little extra for the local neighborhood stray.
National Oatmeal Day is also recognized
Also celebrated on October 29 is National Oatmeal Day. While delicious when topped with cinnamon sugar, fruit, or nuts, many don’t realize the various health benefits behind this breakfast favorite. High in antioxidants and fiber, eating oatmeal regularly can improve gut and heart health, lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels, and promote weight loss, so celebrate this special occasion by making yourself a bowl.
